13 Movies of Halloween

Every year, my husband and I put together a movie list for 13 Days of Halloween. There are certain titles that grace the list every year (like Hocus Pocus), but there are always new additions to keep the season interesting. The movies range from classic to creepy, whimsical to downright scary. So, I present to you:

13 Movies of Halloween 2016

  1. Zombieland – A new addition to this year’s list and probably one of the gorier movies, but still a fun creepy movie to star out the season
  2. Coraline – It’s been a long while since I’ve seen this movie, but it’s a whimsically twisted tale from the mind of Neil Gaiman
  3. Shaun of the Dead – Another gory zombie movie for the list, but still entertaining
  4. Phantom of the Opera – Not a traditional Halloween movie, but the beautiful masquerade costumes and haunting music are a perfect fit for the season
  5. Hocus Pocus – A Halloween classic necessary for any Halloween movie list
  6. Gremlins – This movie teaches the hazards of feeding little monsters after midnight… An important lesson before trick-or-treating
  7. It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown – And another classic 🙂
  8. Ghostbusters – And it has to be the original version with Slimer and the giant marshmallow man
  9. Edward Scissorhands – A wonderfully cinematic and haunting addition to any Halloween list
  10. The Addams Family – This is one of my favorite kooky families! Halloween isn’t complete without a visit from Cousin It and Thing
  11. Casper – The friendliest ghost has to make an appearance for All Hallows Eve
  12. Where the Wild Things Are – This is another new addition to the list for this year, but based on the famous children’s book, how could you go wrong?
  13. The Nightmare before Christmas – And last but not least, my all-time favorite film from Tim Burton!

Happy Halloweening!
