One of the most amazing parts of visiting Door County was the number of art galleries scattered throughout the countryside. You’d just be driving along, minding you’re own business, and pass two or three different galleries in the middle of nowhere.
We checked out several on our visit, but there were two in particular that stood out for us.
Fine Line Designs Gallery and Sculpture Garden
This wonderful stop is located on the outskirts of Sister Bay. The gallery housed everything from colorful wooden furniture and scenic paintings, to steampunk-esque bird statues and fused glass. Sadly, I couldn’t get a whole ton of photos because many of the works are inside the gallery under the watchful eye of the curator, but there is also a beautiful outdoor sculpture garden filled with whimsical benches and whirligigs.
The house itself is a work of art too, with unique architecture and a gorgeous, light-filled tower with stained glass windows. And it was originally just a chicken coop! Check out their website for more photos!
Edgewood Orchard Galleries
This cool spot is a combination outdoor garden and indoor gallery space. We were initially attracted by the amazing metal sculptures scattered around the property and had to stop and take a look.
The indoor gallery space is neat as well, taking up several sheds and buildings on the property. Plus they have information posted about other art events in the area in case you’re searching for your next destination. If you’d like to see more, check out their website for more information.
