4 out of 5 Stars I noticed this book when digging through the YA section at a local bookstore and picked it up, intrigued by the bold cover. To my surprise, it was actually a graphic novel and the newest book in an established series. Luckily, I recently finished that series, the Lunar Chronicles 🙂 … Continue reading Graphic Novel Review: Wires and Nerve #1 by Marissa Meyer
My husband and I took a recent trip to Traverse City. If you regularly follow my posts, you've probably seen posts about the beautiful lake shore, cool street art, and the quaint downtown area. But there's a darker side to Traverse City as well. The Asylum. This psychiatric hospital has been known by many names: … Continue reading The Asylum at Traverse City
5 out of 5 Stars I loved A Court of Thorns and Roses, so I just had to pick up the next book in the series. Plus, it has an impressive 4.73 star rating on Good Reads, so who wouldn't want to see what happens next? The Blurb Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to … Continue reading Book Review: A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

It's best known for its annual National Cherry Festival and Traverse City State Park, which has a gorgeous beach with great trails. We meandered between … Continue reading Traverse City Downtown
4 out of 5 Stars I've been eyeing this book since it first showed up in bookstores several years ago. The cover was beautiful but otherwordly. And honestly, Cinderella as a cyborg? Who wouldn't be intrigued by that concept? The Blurb Sixteen-year-old Cinder is considered a technological mistake by most of society and a burden … Continue reading Book Review: Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Traverse City, located on the Grand Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan, is a beautiful community. One of my favorite things about the city was the amazing lake front. The water was so clear, you can actually see schools of fish swimming in some of the photos! Here's some photos from our recent trip: Happy Travels!
5 out of 5 Stars! During a panel about fairy tale retellings (the same one where I met Christina Henry, author of Lost Boy), several of the authors mentioned some of their favorite retellings. One of the recommendations was A Court of Thorns and Roses, a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Some Background Feyre's … Continue reading Book Review: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
For my husband and I, summer means traveling. Our most recent trip was to Traverse City, MI- an awesome resort community on the shores of Lake Michigan. Besides all the awesome little shops and indie-style pubs, there were some amazing examples of art around the city. Check out all this amazing work!
Summerfest is America's largest music festival and I had the opportunity to check it out! Held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this yearly celebration takes over the shores of Lake Michigan for two weeks (from the end of June through the beginning of July), offering multiple music stages, vendors, food, and plenty of beer (because it's Wisconsin). … Continue reading Summerfest!
